Technology is a new theology. Substantively, technology represents the culmination of human creation undergirded by reason, without reference to supernatural. In that sense, kind secular substitute for Functionally, through its ubiquity and esoteric rules govern our lives so comprehensively, echoes binding nature theology as subset religion (from religare, meaning ‘to rebind’).
